Vienna, reclaim the streets
We finally went out in the streets of Vienna, a reclaim the streets party in front of the Museumsquartier seemed to be the perfect place to do our first session in this city.

We weren’t alone with our amps, there was this incredible mobile soundsystem installed on two modified bikes playing Techno energetic and fast, we tried to fit in with soundscapes, vocal samples, sampling sounds recorded whilst walking around the area.

The “Amerlinghaus Bleibt” demo started right after the reclaim the streets party.
Forced to cancel our trip to Berlin!

Prague, Day 1
What a warm welcome in Praha. FA TECH is out in the streets again, unfortunately without Nada, who got sick just two days before our departure.
After arriving in the afternoon, we immediately went on a sampling trip towards the city center. Our first hike ended at the beautiful river Moldau. We were looking for a place to jam there, but then we decided to go back to the bridge over the railways. This place seemed perfect for playing our first jam in this wonderful city.

Eventually, it turned out to be the right place just at the right time. Amongst the people passing by and stopping for a moment to check out what we were doing, there was Václav, who immediately joined in with his violin. What a great session, we forgot everything around us, we didn’t even realise that two policemen were standing in front of us, enjoying the “concert”, taking one of our stickers and filming us.

London, Day 10
Instead of visiting St. Paul’s Cathedral today, we got off the bus at Elephant & Castle to explore the abandoned estate we drove by many times while going by bus in London. After finding out where to get in, we found ourselves in the middle of the amazing Heygate Estate.
Right before deciding on a place where we would play, we met Guy Mannes-Abbott from the Elephant and Castle Urban Forest, who explained to us the story of the Heygate Estate (this article from 2010 counts 20 households - meanwhile only 6 are left).
There is also a project of mobile gardeners on the estate (click on the photo for their website):
After the session, sampling pipes near the estate:
Back to Heygate estate after our coffee break, shortly before it began to rain:
Before accepting the invitation to a little party on the estate, we played another session while it got dark.

London, Day 7
On our 7th day in London, we went to South Bank and recorded sounds of the goings-on and the people ambling along the riverside, like an escape artist and skateboarders again.
Attracted by a sign next to a closed off area which said “Experimenters wanted” we tried to talk the people at the entry into letting us perform on their stage, but they were actually looking for people to experiment with drinks, not sounds…
After another while at South Bank we decided to leave the pier to play next to the Thames in front of the Tate Modern. From time to time, sprinkles of water from waves hitting the pier would splash on us, which was quite refreshing on this hot day…
During our session, quite a lot of nice people passed by. Some sat down on the stairs behind us to listen, hang out and talk about our project. Some took photos, and one of them, Patrick, even took some more after we had asked him if he could send them to us.
Clarissa came by after work to visit us as well. Thanks to her, there are even more pictures of all three of us, which had rather been a problem at other times. Eventually, some guy (he left before having told us his name) joined in to rap to our music and to some Hip Hop beat Pascal played for him afterwards. We really enjoyed this spontaneous interaction, thank you!
